Why People Love the Cadillac 2017 ATS

Would you love to own a luxury car, but haven’t been able to justify spending the money on one? Cadillac has heard these complaints before, and they have an answer: the 2017 ATS. This model takes everything that makes Cadillac one of the top brand names in the luxury car industry and turns it affordable. The base model retails for $45,000. While that may still seem like a lot to some people, it’s quite affordable when it comes to luxury cars. But what is it that makes the ATS so amazing?

The Engine

The ATS is powered by a 2.0 liter turbo engine. This four-cylinder engine provides the car with 272 horsepower. While that may not match some of Cadillac’s other offerings, it’s still quite respectable, and you’ll find that it gives you a lot of power when you want it. Hit the gas and you’ll see that while it might not have the 420 horsepower that the CTS V-Sport has, you won’t be disappointed.

The Infotainment System

Cadillac has been praised for Cue, their infotainment system. Cue provides both Android Auto and Apple Carplay as well as GPS and other standard features. Everything is controlled from the eight-inch touchscreen. The easy-to-use system is known as one of the most intuitive available, setting it apart from some of the other systems out there. In addition to what you’d expect to find in a luxury car’s electronics, Cue also can alert you to text messages and create a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot.

The Interior and Exterior

While the ATS might be on the lower end of the scale price-wise, Cadillac didn’t leave anything out in the interior. The low-gloss carbon fiber is a new feature for the 2017 model, and it definitely ups the look of this car. While there are some things that the ATS doesn’t feature that higher models do, you’ll still find that there’s plenty here to love. The Recaro seats are here to remind you that the ATS is a sports vehicle—you won’t find them in any of the line’s other cars that are designed to be pure luxury automobiles.

They’re quite comfortable, though, and they definitely fit with the overall look and feel of the car.

Outside, the ATS looks awesome. It’s a sporty car, which might not seem to really fit with Cadillac’s image, but it does feature some of the lines and looks of the more expensive models. It may look a little more aggressive than a luxury car should, of course, but isn’t that the point?

The Gas Mileage

Luxury cars aren’t known for their gas mileage, and sporty cars certainly aren’t. While the ATS doesn’t hit the lows that some of the vehicles in both categories do, it’s not the best, either. On average, you’ll get around 25 miles a gallon.

Why the ATS? Why Not?

If you haven’t made the leap to luxury cars due to the cost, the 2017 Cadillac ATS is a great option. It’s a good starter luxury car since you can see if you like everything Cadillac offers without spending a large amount of money. If you love what the ATS has to offer, you can later trade up to one of the more expensive models. Give the world of luxury vehicles a try with the Cadillac ATS, and experience a new level of driving.
